Cretans Commemorate Ohi Day in Thomastown
On the 26th of October the Cretan Brotherhood participated in Ohi Day commemorations at the Thomastown Greek Church ‘The Transfiguration of Our Lord’.
The day began with a parade through the local area where Cretan Brotherhood members marched alongside other community groups including the Pontians and students from the Church’s Greek School.
Following the parade and participants tooks photos outside the church hall to mark the occasion.
Afterwards, attendees entered the Church Hall for a commemorative function where the Cretan Brotherhood Dance group performed Sirto, Malevizioti and Sousta to the delight of the crowd.
Lest we forget the brave Greeks who fought for freedom.
