On Tuesday the 16th of April, the tiny, junior and intermediate dance groups at the Cretan Brotherhood participated in Easter workshops to learn Greek customs and traditions in the lead up to Megali Evdomada.
Everyone had the chance to make their own koulourakia which were thoroughly enjoyed by all. The kids also got the chance to learn about another key Greek Easter custom – the famous red eggs! The kids decided to get creative decorating their eggs with all different patterns and colours. The night then followed with an Easter scavenger hunt around the club, leading them to the secret treasure waiting by the Venizelo statue.
Everyone went home with a hamper full of Easter goodies to share with their family and friends. It was great to see so many kids and adults involved because that is exactly what Easter is all about! We also had plenty of new faces which we hope to see return once we recommence classes after Easter.
