Greek Speaking program gets Cretans talking!

From Tuesday the 21st of June, volunteers conducted a four-week Greek Speaking program at the Cretan Club.

Each Tuesday from 8pm participants spent an hour practicing their Greek speaking skills in a relaxed social environment.

Each hour-long session was broken up into 10-minute activities including describing games, grammar skill sessions, story building and scenario role playing.

The program catered to all levels and encouraged all participants to do their best and push themselves.

Basic language resources were also provided to help beginners get talking straight away!

Program facilitator Emmanuel Heretakis was happy with the program outcomes.

“We got positive feedback from participants regarding the session structure and overall enjoyment. I think there’s a great opportunity to expand in the future by marketing outside the club, and to do more extensive preparation in order to run a longer program next time with clearer learning outcomes.”

Volunteers would like to thank participants for supporting the trial run, and the Cretan Brotherhood Committee for their support in running the the program.
