Cretan Federation of Australia and New Zealand
The Cretan Federation of Australia and New Zealand (CFANZ) is an international body first formed in Australia in 1980 with the primary objective of further tightening of relations between the Member Organisations of the Federation in Australia and New Zealand.
The Cretan Brotherhood is an active member of CFANZ and participates in both the annual national conventions and annual national Battle of Crete commemorations providing members the opportunity to learn and contribute to Cretan culture as well as establish relationships with members of Cretan Associations throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Battle of Crete & Greece Commemorative Council
In 2015 the Battle of Crete & Greece Commemorative Council (BOCGCC) was formed in Melbourne and is an initiative of the Cretan Community of Victoria with the primary objective of promoting and commemorating the involvement of Anzac Forces in the Greek Campaign and the Battle of Crete in 1941.
The Cretan Brotherhood was a foundation member of the council and through its membership aims to continue its work in hosting annual events that elevate public understanding and commemoration of The Battle of Crete.
Viglatores
The Viglatores is a Cretan cultural group based in Chania, Crete.
In 2016 the Viglatores toured Melbourne as guests of the Cretan Brotherhood as part of the Cretan Brotherhood’s 60th anniversary celebrations.
The tour included workshops, performances and the formal announcement of a sister-club relationship between the two clubs.
The relationship aims to foster a greater connection between members of the Cretan Brotherhood and the island of Crete, as well as providing an avenue for collaboration on cultural education and development.
National Research Foundation of Eleftherios K Venizelos
The National Research Foundation Eleftherios K Venizelos (NRF) is devoted bringing the story the Greek Politician to the public.
In 2019 the NRF entered a partnership with the Cretan Brotherhood at a function in Chania.
The purpose of the partnership was to honour the work of the Cretan Brotherhood in promoting the legacy of Venizelos in Australia, and provide strong links to further the Australian public’s understanding of the Greek Politician.
World Cretan Council
The World Cretan Council is an organisation that connects Cretan Clubs from around the world and hosts the Annual Cretan Convention every three years in Crete.
The Cretan Brotherhood participated in the 2013 convention hosted in Chania.
